Minimum au pair wages

Please do not base the au pair wage only on the following information. Always check additional source of information (for example other au pair ads and governmental sources) before deciding on the wage. The hours of weekly work is also an important factor when determining wages.

• Australia: AUD180 - AUD220 per week
• Austria: €50 - €60 per week
• Belgium: €450 a month
• Canada: $5 to $7 per hour
• Denmark: At least €335 per month
• France: €240 to €300 per month
• Germany: €260 per month
• Ireland: €50-€75 per week
• Italy: €60-€65 per week for an Au pair and € 80-€90 per week for “Au pair plus”
• Netherlands: €340 per month
• New Zealand: AU$250 per week
• Norway: Must be no less then NOK 4000 ($735) per month
• Spain: €50-€60 per week for an Au pair and €80-€90 per week for "Au pair plus"
• Sweden: Minimum SEK 3,500 per month (US$ 500 or EUR 350 approx)
• Switzerland: CHF500 - CHF800 per month
• United Kingdom: £60 per week
• United States: $139.05 per week
